About Me
As long as I can remember, I was always drawing. As a child, I couldn’t stay inside the lines of colouring books — not because I couldn’t, but because I didn’t want to. I always felt the need to go beyond, to create something of my own.
By chance, I ended up spending nine years in music school instead of art school. My parents insisted, but even during those years, I never stopped drawing. At 12, I decided I wanted to be a fashion designer. By 16, I knew I’d become an interior designer. I followed that path and built a successful design career in Russia — and yet, the need to create with my hands, to paint, never left me.
When I moved to New Zealand, something shifted. Surrounded by stunning landscapes and vibrant flowers, I found a new creative energy. One day, I picked up a brush to paint a gift for a friend… and I never stopped. What began as a small idea became an unstoppable force. I was painting obsessively — not out of discipline, but out of joy, curiosity, and a craving to express something deeper.
That’s how my art journey began. I taught myself how to paint again, experimenting, exploring, pushing through frustration and fear, finding freedom in the process.
Today, I am an established New Zealand artist and art tutor. My practice is centred around palette knife painting in oil, using texture, colour, and floral forms to express energy, emotion, and movement. Every painting is an extension of a feeling — sometimes bold and explosive, other times quiet and delicate — but always honest.
In late 2024, I moved to Australia with my family to start a new chapter. I continue to create, exhibit, and sell my work, now bringing my creative voice to this new land.
Art has taught me that when you follow your passion without fear, life opens unexpected doors. I’m grateful every day that I chose to take the risk.
